Empire of Rome 27 BC - 284 AD

A game of the internal politics and wars of Imperial Rome from 27 BC to 284 AD. Players control factions represented by senators, consuls, provinces, legions, fleets, courtiers, and trade concessions. One faction controls the Caesar, who rewards and punishes, wages war, makes peace, and claims much of Rome’s wealth, while facing assassination attempts, rebellions, and the Praetorian Guard. Foreign wars, Germanic invasions, and Parthian attacks compete with political ambitions. Generals sent to defend the empire may instead march on Rome and claim the imperial purple. Players’ choices determine whether Rome expands beyond its historical limits or begins its decline and fall.
