Gene Pool
Players take on the role of DNA engineers working to repair genes associated with rare genetic diseases. Each player uses cards to mutate, invert, delete, insert, and rearrange a shared DNA sequence while pursuing private research goals. Completed genes vary in length and difficulty, and goals are revealed as they appear in the sequence. The first player to complete enough research wins.

Tom5.2 Gene Pool is an insignificant looking game, and you might overlook it when scanning my bookcases that are crammed with piles of large, colorful games. But it's a game that promotes science - specifically genetics - and is easily portable, sets up and is explained quickly, and rather fun for the short time it takes up.
