Goldland

Players explore a wilderness in search of a lost temple, gradually building the map from randomly drawn tiles. Each player manages a backpack holding tools, provisions, trading goods, and treasures; the number of empty spaces determines movement speed, so carrying less allows faster travel. Some locations provide items when the required equipment is carried, while adventure tiles require players to spend specific items to enter. Camp markers make completed adventure tiles easier to revisit, encouraging trips back and forth as players gather supplies and open a route toward the temple. Reaching the temple earlier provides a larger bonus.

Evan1.6 Goldland is a Kramer and Kiesling (K&K) game where you get a single pawn, and you walk him around the board as it's revealed completing challenges and collecting treasures. You lay tiles down as you explore and are rewarded points for having completed the most of each type of challenge, and you get some bonuses for getting to the furthest end of the board first. You beat the challenges by discarding the appropriate gear from your backpack, and you have limited space. In fact, the more stuff you carry, the slower you get moving around the board which is an interesting dynamic. Ultimately, this game was too random due to not knowing what to stockpile vs what tiles would be revealed by other players. This style of game is better executed in both The Cave and Lost Valley: The Yukon Goldrush 1896.
Tom2.5 The idea sounds good, but I hated being stuck in one spot. Lost Valley does the same thing, but in a much more enjoyable way.
