Seasons of Rice
Players are farmers building a shared memory of rice paddies across two seasons. During the Wet Season everyone drafts simultaneously, choosing one card to place in their personal landscape and one to add to a communal Dry Season row; hands are passed and this repeats until all cards are placed. In the Dry Season players take turns drafting from the communal row and immediately place selected paddy cards into their landscapes. Enclosed paddies score based on size, added houses, and contained farmers and buffaloes, while a player-specific ancestor awards bonus points for meeting particular conditions. Games use a small, fixed deck and emphasize spatial placement, planning across both seasons, and efficient scoring.

A small drafting & tile (card) placement game. PROS - This game is clever: it demands and rewards good planning. - The art here is gorgeous. It is listed before other cons because that's just how good it is. It is SO pleasant to lay down these cards. - This is a really fast game, leaving you wanting much more (which is always a good sign!). - There is a lot of replayability with all the Ancestors, and it is fun to try the different powers. CONS - This is begging for a full-sized 18 cards expansion, playing games twice as long or with 3-4 players sounds like a fantastic experience.
