The Other Side of the Hill

Players take the roles of rival cliques within Germany’s wartime leadership, managing careers, commanders, and strategy as World War II unfolds. They advance favored Army and Army Group commanders to gain Prestige, seize battlefield victories early on, and avoid responsibility for later defeats as Allied and Soviet pressure mounts. Hidden objectives and Interest Groups — such as technical Professionals, traditionalist Old Guard, or anti-Nazi Dissidents — shape each player’s goals and can subvert collective strategy. Game systems portray competing directives, historical events, air raids on industry, and the possibility that a player secretly undermines the war effort. Supports two to four players with competitive, semi-cooperative, cooperative, and solitaire options; cards provide historical context for officers, directives, and plots.

I love the theme, and the artwork for the components and cards are really nice. The map is far too busy for my eyes. I think it is the messiest board art I have ever seen. I also feel like the game is playing the players as it presents a lot of randomness combined with not giving players any real choices. One of the four roles doesnt do much and is very boring to play. Yes even worse than the State player in Hegemony. I much rather play John Company for this kind of game.

I love this politic/militar simulator. It is a real experience between until 4 players about Wehrmacht High Command management. Cooperative, solitaire or Competitive, this game willbe the talk of the town for its refined mechanics.

Un juego de generales nazis o no. Una guerra donde todos están en un bando y todos pierden, pero entre ellos uno gana y es que más puntos obtiene. Interesante mecánica que huele a otros juegos pero conserva una personalidad propia. Tienes que venir con el bocadillo.
