Ars Magica (5th edition)

Players portray powerful wizards who belong to covenants in a version of medieval Europe where supernatural beliefs are true: faeries, angels, demons and other mystical beings actively influence the world. Play alternates between troupe-style scenes at the covenant—researching and inventing spells, managing resources, training companions and grogs—and story-driven adventures across Mythic Europe where characters pursue myths, negotiate with spirits, and confront mundane and supernatural threats. A detailed magic system governs how spells are designed, learned and cast, while collaborative roleplaying and rotating character responsibilities shape long-term saga play.
