Betula

An historical murder-mystery scenario set in rural Pennsylvania in April 1921. Players take the roles of detectives working for the Baldwin-Felts Agency, pursuing the men responsible for killing the county’s only lawful authority. The suspects are hidden in the woods behind a camp of Norwegian lumberjacks, while the investigators must decide how far they are willing to go without legal power to arrest them. The scenario explores moral ambiguity during Prohibition and is designed for a game master and 1–4 players. It uses freeform play and can be adapted to lightweight roleplaying systems.
