City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities

A system-neutral guide for Game Masters who create urban areas and other communities for role-playing campaigns. It covers settings from the ancient world through the Renaissance, as well as fantasy and other milieus. The book is divided into 14 sections covering entertainment, professional, mercantile, service, scholarly, religious, governmental, and underworld locations, among others. It describes nearly 70 types of places, provides one to four adventure hooks for each, and includes an appendix on guilds.
