Don't Get Got!: Shut Up & Sit Down Special Edition

Players receive secret mission cards and try to get other players to perform specific actions or say certain phrases without revealing their own objectives. The game runs across normal social situations—at home, work, parties, or conventions—so play unfolds opportunistically as players interact throughout the day. Each player starts with multiple unique missions and scores by completing them; the first player to finish a set number of missions wins. This edition adds a large set of new mission cards, plastic wallets for holding cards, and a collectible sticker, and can be combined with an existing copy to expand play to more players.

Before we begin, I would like to clear something up. This game is NOT a gimmic. Neither is it truly a game, if I'm being brutally honest. However, that does not mean it doesn't have a place. At it's core, Don't Get Got! is a beautiful complement to any games night, party, or otherwise dull social event. I cannot count the amount of times a dreary family gathering has been transformed into a hair-raising night of paranoia, trickery, and general skullduggery. Some despise this game because of those very same effects; apparently being driven to delirious obsession over an attempt to flat-out gaslight someone for the sake of a game is not enjoyable. They are wrong. Normally I would nitpick the game I'm reviewing in this section, but honestly, I can't think of anything wrong with it. For what it is, a decidedly novel party game with exciting gameplay and hilarious outcomes, it possesses no fault in my (usually correct) opinion.
