Gestalt: The Hero Within (HERO 5E edition)

A superhero setting where characters embody archetypes and symbols rather than merely possessing extraordinary abilities. Heroes may represent concepts such as Strength, Speed, Cleverness, the Elements, Kindness, Cruelty, or Ambition, living out their chosen ideals in every situation. Players create and portray champions whose powers, actions, and personal goals express a particular concept or portfolio. The setting combines comic-book adventure with the roles of mythological gods, as characters defend their ideals, champion those who follow them, and use their abilities to shape the world.
