Hercules and the 12 Labors
Play solo as the legendary hero undertaking twelve mythic challenges to earn divinity. Roll and allocate dice to power abilities, fight monsters, and resolve encounter cards representing foes such as multi-headed beasts, monstrous birds, and guardian hounds. Victories grant equipment and permanent upgrades that change future dice allocation and combat options. Travel across varied locations to complete objectives like retrieving sacred objects or confronting powerful rulers, while mood cards introduce narrative effects tied to memories and emotional states that alter risk and reward. Success is measured by defeating all labors and accumulating enough divinity to reach Olympus.

Do I use Mood cards for the whole game, or only for the current Labor?
Draw and resolve one Mood card before each Labor; its effects apply only during that Labor and are not cumulative. Shuffle it back into the Mood deck when the Labor ends (p. 8).
Can I use a die on a gold square to also deal damage to the Labor?
No. You must use blue-square abilities before gold-square abilities, and dice placed on gold squares are locked and cannot be used to deal damage. After resolving those abilities, only remaining unused dice can be placed on the Labor card (pp. 9–10).
What happens when I reduce a Labor die to 0?
The Labor is defeated: flip the Labor card, choose one of the revealed Reward cards, discard the others, place the chosen reward beside your other rewards, and gain its bonuses. Then proceed to the next Labor (p. 9).
What happens when a Labor die moves to the next space?
If the Labor was not defeated, advance its die along the indicated lightning-bolt path and immediately resolve the icons on the space it enters. At a branching path, choose which space the die moves to next (pp. 9, 13, 17).
Do the dice shown in an attack requirement all have to be used together?
It depends on the symbol: a slash means you may match either shown die, a number requires dice totaling exactly that number, and straight symbols require consecutive values. Matching-dice, multiplication, addition, and inequality symbols each specify their own combination requirements (p. 12).
Do I win as soon as I complete all 12 Labors?
No. You win only if you accomplish all 12 Labors and reach the top of the Divinity track; completing the Labors without reaching the top of that track is a loss (p. 11).
