Letter Jam

Players hold letter cards so each card is visible to everyone except its owner and work together to reconstruct hidden words. On a turn, players scan others’ visible letters and announce the length of the longest word they can form; the chosen clue giver then assigns numbered clue tokens to spell a hint using those letters (or a wild). Each recipient uses the numbered token to deduce their own hidden letter and, if certain, locks it face down. After revealing subsequent letters and repeating over several rounds, players finally arrange their unlocked letters to form a real word and reveal to check how many complete words the group produced.

룰 질문

Ludoya 룰 도우미가 룰북을 바탕으로 답변했습니다.

Can I look at my own letters during the game?

No — you never look at your own letters; you place them face down and only the other players can see them (see page 2).

Can I use my own letter when I'm the cluegiver?

No — you may only use letters you can see (other players' letters, nonplayer stands, bonus letters, or the wildcard) when spelling a clue (see page 3 and the FAQ on page 5).

How does the wildcard work — can it stand for different letters or be used multiple times?

The wildcard represents a single letter and may be used multiple times in a word if it represents the same letter, but it cannot represent two different letters in the same clue, and the cluegiver may not reveal which letter it stands for (see page 3).

What happens to nonplayer stand cards when they are used in a clue?

If a nonplayer stand's card is used in the clue, that stand discards that card and draws the next card from its stack; when a stack is exhausted it reveals a green token and then draws from the central deck (see page 4).

How do clue tokens and the red/green token rules work — who can give clues and when do more greens become available?

Each time you give a clue you take a token: in 4–6 player games you take a red token for your first clue and green tokens thereafter; initially only the leaf green tokens are available and when all red tokens are gone the central green token becomes available (see page 4).
