Players take the roles of awakened individuals who can shape reality through belief, will and ritual. Characters belong to different philosophies and factions that approach magic and its consequences in distinct ways, and play explores conflicts between personal power, ethics and the social structures that try to control it. Gameplay centers on narrative roleplaying and collaborative storytelling, using a ruleset that resolves actions with dice pools and mechanics for paradox, consensus reality and the effects of widespread belief. Sessions emphasize character development, moral ambiguity and the consequences that follow when supernatural force collides with ordinary society.
