Musketeer Chess

Introduce two powerful, non-standard pieces to disrupt established strategies and enable new ones. Each player selects two musketeer pieces, which begin on a phantom row behind the back rank and enter play when the space in front of them is cleared. If the piece occupying that space is captured before the musketeer enters, the musketeer is removed as well. The added pieces create a denser board and provide early information about likely development. The game uses standard western chess rules alongside a range of special pieces, with estimated piece values helping players assess advantageous trades.
