Sorcery is a Sword Without a Hilt

A magic system for OSR-style roleplaying games, featuring 40 level-less spells and dozens of magical catastrophes. Spells function as flexible, strange tools whose effects depend on how much magical energy the sorcerer commits, with room for the GM to interpret their terse descriptions. Sorcerers cast using unusual physical components, managing those components as part of their inventory. The system offers unconventional solutions to adventuring problems while leaving core dungeon challenges such as light, hunger, and exhaustion unresolved.
