Takamatsu

Takamatsu is a board game for 2–5 players. It plays in 30 minutes and is meant for ages 10 and up. Ludoya players call it best with 3.

In the capital, rival daimyos direct their samurai through the Shogun’s palace in a contest of conflict and cooperation. The palace features two circular paths that merge and separate, with samurai moving clockwise between color-coded rooms. On each turn, players choose a room containing their samurai and move some of them according to the room’s occupants. Samurai may carry opposing pieces along, and landing in a room of their own color earns scoring cards. Some cards remain hidden, while others adjust a player’s score immediately and can even reduce it. When a player reaches 20 points, the round ends and hidden cards are revealed. The highest score wins.
