The Egg of the Gazolba

King Euvoran IX’s rule depends on a living Gazolba bird crown, which lays an egg when a son is born. When the king dies, the egg hatches into the new ruler’s Gazolba. The Vizier now reveals that the egg intended for the Sultan’s only son has been replaced with a plaster sham, setting the stage for a search for the genuine egg.
