Thunder on the Mississippi: Grant's Vicksburg Campaign

A tactical-strategic simulation of Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant’s 1863 campaign to capture Vicksburg, covering the amphibious landings, maneuver across varied Mississippi River terrain, and the culminating siege operations. Players command Union and Confederate forces on two full-color map sheets that introduce region-specific features such as loess hills and coastal bluffs. The game offers layered play: a Basic Game with multiple short scenarios for learning and focused actions, and an Advanced Campaign that runs through the full 70-turn operation with campaign-specific rules for amphibious operations, movement, and siege warfare. Components include series rules, a dedicated rules booklet with scenarios and historical notes, counters, force displays, charts and dice for operational play.
