Unhappy King Charles!

Two players contest control of England and Wales in a simulation of the Civil War era, one representing the Parliamentarian Commons and the other the Royalist Cavaliers. Play proceeds over eleven turns; players recruit brigades, assemble armies under generals, besiege fortresses and fight battles using brigade combat values, leader ratings and event-driven combat cards. Movement is area-to-area along map lines, with activation by numbered operations cards and interception possibilities. Fortresses require multi-activation sieges or assaults to capture, and losses removed from play reduce future recruitment. Optional counterfactual event cards alter naval and foreign interventions.
