Players expand trade routes beyond Mesopotamia, document new lands, and establish trading posts while developing advanced technologies for future expeditions. A new board lets players upgrade their workers similarly to upgrading dice, and a fourth (red) minaret introduces another area-control space and influence option. Trader tiles and Overseer townfolk add new powerful actions, and additional cards populate each deck to increase variety.
