Fertility
Players act as regional governors in Ancient Egypt, placing domino-style Valley tiles on a central board to collect resources such as alabaster, bovines, papyrus, grapes and wheat. On each turn the collected resources are immediately allocated: spend some to build new District tiles on a personal metropolis board, then place remaining resources into Shops to score Debens. Unused resources at the end of the turn are lost and stocked resources cannot be moved until game end. Play runs through nine rounds; fully supplied Shops generate income and the player with the most Debens wins.

Evan5,9 Each player gets a display of three 1x2 tiles, with each square of the tile having one printed resource on it. On your turn, you place a tile on the central board, and then produce goods if the icons on tiles next to what you placed match with the icons on the tile you placed. Then you can build a building by discarding resources equal to the cost. Each building then has further spaces on it, which you can place goods on to unlock points in various forms and combinations. Then any access goods wash away, you refill your hand and then it's the next player's turn. There's some luck mitigation in that each player has some pre-printed spaces on their player boards with useful tools to spend goods on. There's some set collection going on in the form of trying to accumulate god symbols from your building tiles. There is also a minor majorities element where if you enclose a single square with tiles you can choose to place a player marker in the empty space, which at the end of the game has a scoring for most markers on the board with friendly ties. The game is fast and crunchy, with different paths in the way you build out your buildings, and it has that element that I enjoy from many abstract games where you need to pay attention to where you place what as to not set someone else up for too good a move. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :nostar: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
