Once We Moved Like the Wind: The Apache Wars, 1861-1886

Cochise, Victoria, Chato, Geronimo and other Apache war leaders face U.S. and Mexican forces during the conflicts of 1861–1886. Each turn determines the level of provocation, available forces and their placement across areas of Arizona, New Mexico, Sonora and Chihuahua. The Apache player moves first, followed by the Army player, with combat occurring when opposing forces share a location. Hidden-information wooden blocks represent troops, war bands and possible rumors, requiring both sides to judge whether opponents are real, false or strong enough to attack. Victory points advance each player’s position on the Victory Track, with the higher level winning at game end.
