Slay the Spire: The Board Game

Players take on distinct characters with small starting decks and develop them by adding and removing cards between encounters. The game combines cooperative deck-building with a rogue-like campaign structure: play through a series of Acts filled with enemies, hazards, and relics that alter strategies, and restart from the beginning when the party is defeated. Each Act culminates in a boss fight; the group can choose how many Acts to attempt and may stop after any Act. Players manage health and resources—if any player is reduced to 0 HP the party loses.

Deckbulding con tintes de rogue lite. El modo solitario funciona como un reloj y es altamente recomendable. En cooperativo es muy interesante buscar cartas que ofrezcan psinergías entre jugadores. Se podría haber aprovechado para incluir nuevos enemigos, se hacen un poco repetitivos. Incluye sistema de desbloqueos y mucho pique en llegar al acto IV. Hay cuatro personajes cada uno con su propia mecánica, lo cual es de agradecer. No obstante, peca de lo mismo que el videojuego. Si no salen las cartas y la suerte no está de tu parte, una simple babosa puede terminar contigo.

Do I reset to 3 Energy and 0 Block at the start of my turn?

Yes — at the start of your turn reset your Energy to 3 and your Block to 0 before drawing and taking actions. (page 12)

When do enemies act, and in what order do their actions resolve?

During the Enemy Phase you resolve enemy actions by row from left to right, with bosses resolving last; follow any cube or special action timing on the enemy cards. (page 13)

If a card 'Exhausts', does it go to my discard or is it removed for the combat?

Exhausted cards go to the Exhaust pile and are removed from play for the rest of the combat unless a specific effect returns or moves them. (pages 6, 24)

If an attack says it hits a row or 'all enemies', who exactly takes damage?

A row-targeted effect affects every enemy and summon in that specific row; an 'all enemies' or boss-wide effect hits every enemy across all rows (apply boss mode rules where noted). (page 15)

Do I draw 5 cards at the start of my turn, and what happens if my deck runs out while drawing?

You draw up to 5 cards at the start of your turn; if your draw pile runs out, reshuffle your discard into the draw pile and continue drawing until you have drawn your full hand. (page 12)

Where do summons go and who can they attack or be attacked by?

Place enemies and summons into the player rows indicated during encounter setup; summons occupy a specific row/player and are targeted and act from that position just like other enemies. (pages 10, 15)
