Players sit as members of a royal council and debate who should inherit the throne. On a turn a player draws a card, reads a prompt aloud, and answers its question; other players may ask up to two follow-up questions that the respondent must answer. Play proceeds with each player drawing and responding until a special resolution card appears. When the resolution card is drawn, the group votes for the new monarch based on the persuasiveness and rigor of the arguments presented. The game encourages imaginative roleplaying, active listening, and moral reasoning in a medieval or alternate historical setting.
