Players command heroes and armies in a fantasy conflict between Dwarves and Humans and the Goblin and Undead hordes. They recruit units, build and upgrade cities, develop technology, and conquer territory to destroy an enemy capital or achieve an economic victory. Each turn includes movement, combat, and collection and placement phases. Heroes can explore dungeons, fight creatures, and gain treasure and spells that support their armies and influence battles.
