Players portray members of an Antarctic research station who must survive brutal cold, hostile wildlife and an alien entity that can imitate humans. The game plays cooperatively but encourages suspicion: everyone starts human, then events, mistakes and infections introduce paranoia as identities can change. Players gather resources, build and upgrade gear, trade food and medical supplies, and repair camp systems to stay alive and avoid frostbite and exposure. Venturing outside is necessary to complete objectives but increases risk of encountering the alien. New edition rules add a frostbite mechanic, more ways to bypass locked doors, refreshed events and a storage-based host test to reduce early elimination and deepen tense decision-making.
