Players recruit adventurers from five faction decks and place them into a 3×3 grid to build a compact party. Each recruit has a Combat Value and provides resources — Magic, Technology, Gold, or Victory points — that feed engine effects and purchasing options. Combat strength comes from the front row and scores against opponents each round, while matching three recruits in a row by faction or profession triggers bonus abilities. Placement and resource management drive the engine as players unlock stronger abilities, recruit higher-value adventurers, and pursue the quests that yield points.
