Players act as Guides restoring guardian spirits to their habitats by collecting and playing Spirit Creature cards. On each turn, players form sets of cards to claim Habitat cards; larger or more thematically balanced sets allow claiming higher-value Habitats that score Balance points. Hand management and set construction drive play, with attention to creating sequences of Day and Night cards to enhance set strength. The game ends after a player reaches a target number of Balance points, triggering a final round, and the player with the most Balance points wins.
