The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation

One player controls Sauron’s forces and the other controls the free peoples trying to escort the ring-bearer to Mount Doom. Play unfolds on a gridded map as hidden-piece movement and head-to-head confrontations resolve with rank-based combat and bluffing, similar to Stratego. The deluxe edition uses an expanded board, new sculpted stands, additional character pieces and special action cards that can be mixed with the classic cast. Games run around 30 minutes and focus on deduction, area control and timed piece advancement toward the goal.
