The Cypher System

A flexible tabletop roleplaying system for campaigns in science fiction, fantasy, horror, modern, and other genres. Players create characters by combining a type, descriptor, and focus, then describe their actions as they explore settings, overcome obstacles, and face adversaries. A d20-based resolution system handles tasks and combat, while abilities, effort, and single-use cyphers provide options for influencing play.
