The Last Kingdom Board Game

Players act as rival commanders and politicians competing to shape England during the Saxon–Dane conflicts. Play proceeds over two rounds in which each player drafts round-specific cards, commands Saxon or Dane armies, gains faction affinity, and positions leaders and heroes across five regions. A shared rotating market offers additional actions, and players may pass to wait on opponents’ moves. When all players pass, the armies in the active region resolve and players score based on alignment with the winning side and their level of affinity. Ten distinct leaders provide unique benefits and starting cards, and the highest-scoring player after both rounds wins.
