Players vie for election as island king by meeting one of three victory paths: territorial leadership, widespread settlement, or control of sacred sites. Each round begins with an Assembly where players draft action cards and, when applicable, leader cards for territories. Cards drive play by placing or moving clan figures, founding sanctuaries, exploring, and triggering special effects; epic-tale cards grant one-off heroic abilities. Actions not used by season’s end are lost, and players accumulate deeds that reduce the thresholds for victory. The game emphasizes drafting, hand management, timing, and negotiating the balance of power rather than pure combat; movement and influence across the map determine success.
