Starship Catan

Two players explore a shuffled deck of space cards to find planets to colonize, trading opportunities, helpful missions and pirate encounters. Each turn players draw and reveal cards, resolve events or negotiations, and can upgrade ship systems such as weapons, thrusters and scanners to improve combat, range and information. Victory points come from established colonies, upgraded ship systems, friendship points and hero points; the first player to reach the target total wins. Play emphasizes hand management, tactical upgrades and timing when to press exploration versus dealing with threats.
