Players command one of three German Army groups advancing toward Moscow during the 1941 Barbarossa campaign. Armies are organized into armored and non-motorized units, with logistics handled through trucks and trains. Players move forces, manage supply and transport, and engage the strong Soviet defenses while balancing operational tempo and sustainment. The system builds on tactical operational mechanics from a previous title but deepens unit differentiation and transport logistics to emphasize the importance of supply and movement in the eastern campaign.
