Hats

Players sit at a whimsical tea party and collect hat cards by exchanging cards from their hand with cards on a shared tea-table board or by secretly creating low-value black hats. On a turn a player either swaps a face-up card for a matching color or a lower-value card from the board and adds the taken hat to their tableau, or plays a card face-down to add a black hat worth one point. Players may discard once per turn to draw. At game end, hats score according to their positions on the tea-table board, each player reveals a final “favorite” card that multiplies points for matching types, and a single cookie awards five points to the player with the most distinct hat types. Team exchanges apply in four-player games.
