The Lord of the Rings: Battlefields

An expansion that integrates tactical skirmishes into the campaign, placing separate battlefield boards alongside the main map. Players deploy heroes and enemy units on themed battleboards and resolve combats that affect progress in the core game: enemy advances on a battlefield cause destruction and help the Shadow, while successful defense improves the Fellowship’s position. Setup includes double-sided battleboards, hero and enemy tokens, trigger tiles and event cards that introduce scenarios such as sieges, ambushes and large-scale clashes. Play emphasizes positioning, timing of reinforcements and resolving modular encounters that tie back to the campaign’s overall objectives.
