Ticket to Ride: New York

Play a fast, 15-minute route-building game set on a condensed map of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Players collect colored transportation cards, claim taxi routes by discarding matching cards, and draw destination tickets showing pairs of locations to connect. Each turn a player either draws cards, takes a face-up taxi (acts as a wild), claims a route, or draws new destination tickets and keeps at least one. The round ends when a player has two or fewer taxis left, then each player takes a final turn. Score points for claimed routes, completed destination tickets and reached attractions; subtract points for uncompleted tickets to determine the winner.

Regelfrågor

Besvarat ur regelboken av Ludoyas regelassistent.

Can I claim a Route that isn’t connected to Routes I already claimed?

Yes — you may claim any open Route on the board even if it isn’t connected to your other Routes (you cannot claim more than one Route per turn). (page 1)

Can I claim more than one Route on my turn?

No — on your turn you may do only one action, and claiming a Route is that one action; you cannot claim more than one Route in the same turn. (page 2)

If I take a face-up Taxi (wild) card as my first Transportation card, can I still take a second card?

No — if you take a face-up Taxi card as your first card you cannot take another card that turn, and you are not allowed to take a face-up Taxi as your second card either. (page 2)

When I draw Destination Ticket cards, do I have to keep any? Can I discard them later?

You draw two Destination Tickets and must keep at least one of them (you may keep both); any returned card goes to the bottom of the deck, and once you keep a Destination Ticket you cannot discard it later. (page 1)

What are the rules for Double Routes — can one player claim both sides?

A single player cannot claim both Routes of a Double Route; in two-player games the second Route of a Double Route cannot be claimed by the other player once one is claimed. (page 2)

When does the game end and how do we score?

When a player has two or fewer plastic Taxis left, every player (including that player) gets one final turn, then score Routes first, reveal Destination Tickets and add/subtract their values, then score connected Tourist Attractions; ties are broken by who completed more Destination Tickets. (page 1)
