Tournaments

A historical article about knightly tournaments, covering the mounted melee and the one-on-one joust. It explains how these peacetime mock battles developed from loosely regulated contests using weapons of war into chivalric events governed by marshals and judges, with blunted weapons, formal rules, and an emphasis on pageantry and individual skill.
