Barcelona: The Rose of Fire

In late-19th-century Barcelona, players compete for social prestige and wealth as the city expands beyond its old medieval walls according to Cerdà’s plans. They use cards to construct building tiles in the new Eixample district, with more notable buildings providing greater influence. Construction also attracts workers and can increase unrest among the popular classes. Players must balance prestigious developments with housing for workers to prevent strikes and riots. At the end of each era, worker and peacekeeping figures are drawn from a bag, and the player with the most figures of their color suffers a strike.
