Players act as independent farmers in post-autonomy Puerto Rico, cultivating plantations, hiring workers, and managing crops to sell or ship for points and doubloons. On each round the start-player selects a role (Trader, Builder, etc.) that gives every player the associated action while granting the chooser a small bonus; unused roles gain doubloon bonuses over time. Players use doubloons to buy buildings that expand production or grant abilities, and buildings/plantations require workers to function. Victory points come from buildings, shipped goods, and occupied large buildings; hidden-denomination shipping chips keep exact scores uncertain as the game approaches its end.
