Harmonies
Players build personal landscapes by placing sets of colored terrain tokens onto individual boards to create habitats for animals. On a turn, a player drafts three terrain tokens from a central pool, may take an Animal card from a small display, and may place Animal cubes onto completed patterns that match their Animal cards. Terrain placement and stacking affect scoring differently by type (mountains, fields, forests, etc.), and Animal cards score at game end based on the highest uncovered value; cards are limited to four per player. The game ends when the token bag is exhausted or a player nearly fills their board, with final scoring determining the winner. An optional Spirit-card draft adds ongoing effects and follows the same placement and hand-limit rules.

On your turn, choose a set of 3 colored ? tokens from the board to build out your ?️ landscape and place them on your personal board. You may also choose an animal ? card, having up to 4 in progress at one time. Each animal requires a particular ? habitat and when you complete them you'll place an animal token in the proper spot, providing end game points. Each color of token has a different way of scoring also. Game ends when you run out of tokens or one landscape has 2 or less unoccupied spaces left. We have loved this game since our first play. It's one of those that really lives up to the hype. The art is obviously lovely. The interaction is minimal but cozy. The fan-made solo-scenarios are perfect, too. Component quality is great, and it comes with a simple but effective insert, double sided mats (with slightly different scoring conditions), and clear player aids.
Can I place a token underneath an existing token or move tokens later?
No — you may never place a token underneath previously placed tokens, and you cannot place on or under an Animal cube; token placement is final aside from allowed stacking (see stacking rules). (pp.3,7)
How exactly does stacking work — what counts as a Tree, Building, or Mountain?
Stacks are limited to the shown types: Trees are a green token atop 0–2 brown tokens (height 1–3), Buildings are a red token on top of one token (any color) and score only if surrounded by at least 3 different top-token colors, and Mountains are stacks of 1–3 gray tokens (adjacency affects Mountain scoring). (pp.3,5)
If I place an Animal cube, can I later remove or move it if the habitat gets ruined?
No — each Animal cube placement is final even if the Habitat pattern is later disrupted; you may only place a cube if the Habitat (including required heights) exists and the target token is unoccupied. (pp.4,7)
Do I have to take all 3 tokens from the same central space on my turn?
Yes — once per turn you must take exactly 3 tokens from a single Central board space and then place them on your Personal board. (p.3)
When does the game end, and how are ties resolved?
The game ends when the Pouch is empty when you need to refill the Central board, or at the end of a turn when a player has 2 or fewer empty spaces on their Personal board; finish the round so everyone has equal turns, and ties are broken by who placed the most Animal cubes (then shared if still tied). (p.4)
How do Animal cards score if they aren’t fully completed?
Each Animal card (completed or not) scores the number shown in the topmost space that does not have an Animal cube on it; a card with all cubes still on it scores 0. (p.5)
