Lionheart

A simple tactical wargame in which opposing armies maneuver across a battlefield and fight for control. Players command seven types of units, including Kings, Knights, Archers, Infantry, Mercenaries, and Peasants. Each turn allows two actions: moving, turning, or attacking. Foot units move one square at a time, while mounted units can move any number of unblocked squares. Attacks target the space ahead, with Archers striking an area, and combat dice determine hits. An army wins by eliminating the opposing King or all other warriors, leaving the King alone.

Playing the advanced game makes it worth it. It's not complicated, and very random with the die rolls. Yet this game really draws kids in and was a pretty big hit with my students.
