Players take on roles in a Victorian ghost story where one player is an ambiguous spirit and the others are visitors exploring a haunted house. The game plays either as fully cooperative or one-versus-all, but players do not know which mode applies. Visitors move on the board through rooms and corridors, investigate clues, manage darkness and isolation, and decide whether to split up—losing direct communication if they do. The spirit moves ethereally, can occupy multiple locations, and uses limited actions to either help or hinder; its behavior leaves clues that reveal intentions over time. Tension arises from discerning the spirit’s true goals while uncovering the house’s secrets.
