The Quiet Year

Players collaboratively define life in a small post‑apocalyptic community during a single “quiet” year. The group uses a deck of weekly cards to reveal events, obstacles, and opportunities while drawing and annotating a shared map that records projects, resources, and discoveries. Each turn a player resolves the top card, advances ongoing projects, and then chooses one of three actions: hold a discussion, make a decision, or discover something new. Play emphasizes tradeoffs between community consensus, individual goals, and exploration as time runs down and winter approaches, with the final turn marked by an external threat that ends the year.
