World Without End

Set in the same medieval town two centuries after the earlier story, players act as citizens of Kingsbridge managing the town's needs and fortunes. Each round an event card determines which actions are available; players allocate workers and resources to building, trading, religion, food supply, and medical knowledge. Projects, market transactions and caring for the sick generate victory points, and players pursue multiple paths to score. The game is a standalone, literature-inspired design that emphasizes action selection driven by changing events and resource management on a shared town tableau.

Regelspørgsmål

Besvaret ud fra regelbogen af Ludoyas regelassistent.

If the supply is empty, what do I get for personal income?

If the personal income you should receive isn't available in the supply, you receive 1 victory point instead (page 3).

If the favor award I should get isn't available in the supply, do I get victory points like with personal income?

No — if the award on the favor space isn't available in the supply, you receive nothing; unlike personal income, you do not get victory points instead (page 4).

Can the active player orient the event card so the arrow points to Outlaws even if they can't pay the 1 gold penalty?

No — the Outlaws favor space requires paying 1 gold, and if you cannot pay this, the event card may not be oriented in that manner (page 4).

Do long‑term (blue) event cards affect the action cards I play later in the round?

Yes — if a blue long‑term event is in effect it must be taken into account when playing your action card, and any previously placed long‑term events still in effect also apply (page 3).

When playing with all 12 action cards, do I always discard one action card every round?

Normally after you play one action card you also choose one action card from your hand to discard, but you only discard a card when your action pile would become larger than your discard pile (so the play/discard balance is maintained) (page 4).

How does paying loyalty protect me from end‑of‑chapter penalties?

You may pay 1 loyalty to avoid one penalty at the end of each chapter (you still suffer the victory point loss associated with the shortage); you can pay multiple loyalty to avoid multiple penalties (page 6).
