Detailed simulation of carrier warfare in the Solomon Islands during 1942. Players command individual ships and submarines, manage air points (each representing three aircraft), and resolve weather, air searches, air combat, surface actions, carrier flight operations, submarines, air bases, and supply. Movement is hidden and requires careful planning and searching on a large hex map (20-mile hexes, one-hour turns). Components include hundreds of counters, multiple map sheets to form an extensive South Pacific play area, operations and player-aid cards, and log sheets for tracking complex operations.
