Nacho Loco

Nacho Loco is a board game for 2–6 players. It plays in 20 minutes and is meant for ages 8 and up. Ludoya players call it best with 4. It is rated 2,5 out of 10 by 1 Ludoya reviewers.

Players compete to score points by playing triangular tortilla-chip cards and emptying their hands while blocking opponents. Each card has three segments that may show colors, actions, or an unmatchable Black X; cards are played by matching colors in the shared playfield. Action effects include skipping the next player, making an opponent draw three cards, and taking another turn. If no card can be played, a card is drawn. Matching two or three sides makes other players draw cards. When the field is closed, a new one begins. The first player to discard all cards scores for the cards remaining in opponents’ hands, and the first to reach 20 points wins.

If you have a friend or relative who thinks that Uno is the be-all end-all of gaming, then perhaps this will make a nice sequel for them. The cards are nice looking, and it has a bit of novelty flair about it. However, for most gamers, it is entirely too simplistic and lacking any meaningful decisions to be much fun. It is good for kids, as they learn to match cards; but everyone else should think twice before picking it up. See my review for more details...
