Root the RPG: Quickstart

A narrative roleplaying game set in a woodland of rival factions where players portray vagabonds traveling between clearings and taking on jobs for locals and for the factions at war. Play uses a Powered by the Apocalypse-style framework with basic moves, six vagabond playbooks, and special weapon moves for conflict resolution. Sessions revolve around exploration, missions such as dealing with bandits or sabotaging enemy plans, and choices that shift influence among the woodland factions. The quickstart provides map and clearing generation, a faction reputation system, and enough rules to run several short adventures.
