Clever Cubed

Players draft dice and record the rolled values on a personal scoresheet, placing numbers into colored scoring areas that trigger different scoring rules. Several categories allow placing multiple dice at once, and filled boxes create chain-scoring opportunities and bonus combos. Unused dice affect turn order and availability: any die with a smaller value than the one taken becomes available for the other players to use. The game emphasizes tactical dice selection, optimizing placements on the sheet, and managing which dice remain for opponents.

Sääntökysymykset

Ludoyan sääntöapurin vastaukset sääntökirjasta.

Can multiple passive players pick the same die from the silver platter?

Yes — the dice remain on the silver platter and all passive players choose at the same time, so several players may choose the same die (page 4).

What does the white (joker) die do — can I use it as any color or number?

The white die is a joker and may be used as a yellow, turquoise, brown or pink die, or combined with the blue area rules; for ?-bonuses you may also pick any number 1–6 as if you had rolled it (pages 2 and 9).

When I'm the active player, which row in the yellow area can I cross out on each roll?

As the active player you may only cross out the top row on your first roll, the middle row on your second roll, and the bottom row on your third roll (passive players may only use the gray boxes); bonuses and scoring follow the yellow-area rules (page 5).

If I use the Any Number action, do I actually change the die's value for silver-platter placement or for other players?

No — Any Number only lets you pretend the die shows a different number for writing on your sheet; the die's original rolled value is still used for things like which dice go to the silver platter and what other players may use (page 10).

How and when can I use the Extra Die action, and are there placement restrictions?

Extra Die can be used at the end of your turn (active after your last roll; passive after choosing a platter die) to pick any one of the six dice (each die only once) and may be combined with Any Number, but you must observe normal placement rules — e.g., a yellow cube from certain positions can only be entered on the corresponding yellow-field positions (page 11).

How do foxes score, and how are ties broken at the end of the game?

Each activated fox scores points equal to your lowest-scoring color area (foxes × lowest area points); ties are broken by the highest single-area point value, and if still tied there are multiple winners (page 11).
