Dark Ages: Heritage of Charlemagne

A historical civilization-building miniatures game set in early medieval Europe. Players place action markers on a regional map to perform tasks such as exploring adjacent regions, expanding territory, collecting resources, building cities and fortifications, and training military units. Actions can trigger secondary bonus effects when repeated by the same or other players while markers remain on the board, creating tactical incentives around action selection and timing. Players also acquire noble titles, research technologies, and leverage asymmetric leader and region abilities as they vie for control. The game uses detailed miniatures for settlements and troop types and includes a solo mode; two map variants focus on different parts of Europe and can be combined for larger games.
